The Winchendon School, a coeducational multicultural community, provides college-bound students of good character and promise with the essential study skills and learning strategies that propel each student to achieve academic success. Winchendon is an intimate community of 240 students and approximately 80 educators and other adults committed to supporting and learning from each other. The teachers are excited about and really good at what they do. They have put the “fun” back in fundamentals. That is why the students are engaged and developing the confidence to succeed. Winchendon’s commitment is to small classes, individualized support, daily and weekly written feedback, clear expectations, constant interaction with teachers, consistent structure, and a purposeful focus on building skills and strategies.

School focused on providing college-bound students with the essential study skills and learning strategies that propel each student to achieve academic success.

Dormitories and School Residences

For the boys, they offer 5 dormitories, all different in size, style and set-up. Most boys’ dorms house two students per room, and in most cases the doubles are adjoined to another double by a full bathroom. There are singles, triples, and quads available as well. Each dorm is home to a dorm parent so security, supervision, and support can be found at all hours of the day (and night). This past July 2011, they opened the doors to our brand new 60 person girls dormitory. Dockery Hall boasts 2 floors and multiple common rooms for studying, meeting, and television watching. The girls have the option of choosing to live with another student or by themselves in a single.
